Spring is definitely starting now, with pruning, cleanup, and planting being the most current projects to be doing based on our current weather conditions. Here's my suggestions you can use to get out there and start rocking your garden.
With all the significant moisture we've had, that makes this spring ideal for planting trees and shrubs. Fall is generally the most ideal time of year for this because 6 months of cool/wet weather help establish the roots. When you do your planting this month or in March/April before dry weather comes, you can use all the current moisture to help establish roots.
Now is also the time to get your garden thoroughly cleaned and pruned up. Early spring (February through March) is ideal for cleanup and pruning projects. Plant juices are starting to move upwards now. Most plant structures (aside from evergreens) are easier to see/trim in crafting the clean structures and balance your trees/shrubs need for energy flow, while also adding value and beauty to your land.
After you've got these clean up and pruning tasks handled, the next step is fertilizing when necessary, soil amending, and mulching. All great to do after cleanups/pruning, and is fundamentally the next step when prioritizing an efficient work flow so you don't make extra work. Do all your pruning first so it falls to the ground, clean up the ground, and then lay the fertilizer, soil amendment, and mulch specific to the needs of the plants in your garden as the finishing touch. Follow up with weeding and watering as necessary based on the needs of the season.
