I'm Done with Social Media and 10 Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now
I deleted all my social media accounts last month. Even the new ones that are supporting freedom of speech and don’t do censorship.
I could not be more happy I did this. It was freeing, and has brought me more peace of mind, given that most major social media platforms are used for brainwashing and manipulation of minds.
I was mainly on LinkedIn for over 10 years, closing it with around 6,500 connections. The proof was in the pudding for me when I decided to go through and manually delete all my connections before I closed my account. I was curious and wanted to see if it was true about social media being used for psy-ops. When I went to delete the final 3,500 connections, every time I would delete a profile it would repopulate to where I could not manually delete it. I deleted some profiles over 10 times to no avail. Proving this platform is embedded with bots and deep fake accounts, that I was sure we’re real people.
A general rule of thumb with tech platforms: if it is free you are the product.
Please understand this is not going to always be the case, or meant to be taken as dogma. I provide the option to subscribe to my email list free of charge, in addition to the paid subscriber options. I also provide a complimentary initial phone consultation for you to interview me to confirm I can meet your needs when you are looking to hire me for a project.
Not all people and organizations offering some of the products, services, and publications they provide freely are using you, are disrespecting your rights and freedoms, or trying to manipulate you, profile you, and brainwash you into thinking the way they want you to think. Some are coming from the right place, and offer things freely with no hook in what they are giving away freely.
In cases like what I offer, it is to mutually honor and respect both parties. Why should you hire me to come out to your garden for the paid on-site initial consultation before you know I can meet the needs you have for your project.
My focus and concern is on consistently providing complimentary and paid value, and earning your trust and business the old school way using the tools of technology to reach you directly with permission. Social media has distracted and turned many of us into looky loo’s where we are focused in this virtual reality on things that are often fake, fabricated, and out of context of each of our own unique human priorities we know needs to be our focus. Social media extracts our focus and attention to another person or organization’s narrative and agenda, for how they want to have you and how they want you to think, feel, and act.
I’m all for being sold with humanity, dignity, and respect in whatever I am shopping for. I seek it out directly, and subscribe to the email lists of people and organizations I’m interested in and want to support. It is our responsibility to do our own due diligence in finding the right people and organizations we want to hire to meet our needs. Social media is turning out to be the antithesis of this.
Here is an excellent post from Thinkr that goes into more depth, with good reasons for deleting your social media accounts.
