Regenerative is the Way to GO!
This post is to bring awareness to the regenerative ways of land stewardship.
Ever since I started my journey into Ancestral ways of eating and living, I'm learning more about this superior method of soil stewardship. This way of stewarding the land and animals will help to bring about the healing of the earth that We the People need to support our health, healing, and the future of our children.
It dawned on me in my last year of research and development, that I'm actually a regenerative gardener by practice, intuition, craftsmanship, and my connection with the soil. No-till, non-commercial organic methods are fundamental, and always will be. In fact, no-till, non-commercial organic regenerative methods are ONE.
The organic methods you want to steer clear of are the commercial methods of farming that use tilling. In some cases though, a small rototiller can be the best way to work the soil organically unique to the crop you are plating like strawberries. This is still better than conventional methods that use tilling, toxic fertilizers, GMO's, chemicals, herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides.
Here is the definition of Regenerative from Force of Nature:
”Builds soil health while sequestering carbon creating a net positive impact on the planet. No tilling, no chemicals, no fertilizers, no herbicides, no pesticides, and no fungicides. Holistic, supports healthy ecosystems and is conservation focused. Works to continuously improve the environment and health, incrementally. Works WITH nature to provide the best quality and nutrient dense food on the planet.”
Regenerative land stewardship and gardening provide the following benefits to your soil:
Protects from Heat, Wind, and Rain
Creates Drought Resistance
Stores/Captures Carbon
High Soil Functionality
Flourishing Microbes
Rich in Biodiversity
Nutrient Dense
Deep Roots
